Are you interested in local flora and biodiversity, or do you enjoy walking and mapping? Kaspar Ammann from Floreinventar Region Thun and Chiara Podany from Switzerland Researches – based at Science et Cité – use a concrete example to show how laypeople can get involved in various ways in so-called citizen science projects. After an introduction, we head outside: with curious eyes, we will focus our attention on walls and joints, roadsides and embankments, and practise mapping the plants we find. On this discovery tour, we will learn about native and exotic plants and find out more about the benefits and process of such projects.
