Cantonale artists on their work – Rebekka Friedli

In my audiovisual works, I explore how we encounter the world and ourselves. I am interested in the ideas and attitudes that influence our thoughts and actions in relation to our relationship with the world and ourselves. A current example: I have recently been thinking about a video recording in a high alpine autumn landscape. I have successfully missed this period and the long wait is probably inevitable.

I prefer to work with the camera and my own body. I have found my mode of expression in the time-based medium of video, and by incorporating the body into my work, I can live through an experience from a first-person perspective and make it visible.
