Cantonale artists on their work – Marietta Schenk

Themes that concern me personally and that I explore in my reading – ageing, transparency, consumption, womanhood, the promise of happiness – have a direct or indirect influence on my artistic work. I prefer to work with different materials and techniques, combining, experimenting and constantly discovering new possibilities. The biggest limitation for me at the moment is the size of my studio, which bursts at the seams during intensive production phases. I overcome this limitation by expanding into various other spaces such as the basement and attic, and from January I will be renting a new studio space.
