Cantonale artists on their work – Garance Finger
I am preoccupied with passion, the sublime, cruelty. My first name, Garance, refers to the colour red, which, with all its clichés, is often at the centre of my work.
The production and storage of works requires a lot of space. A studio is an absolute luxury, because the works are rare and often expensive. For a long time, I worked at night in my kitchen. Artistic creation is a necessity that adapts to and responds to everyday life and reality.
My artistic activity is not limited to a specific medium: I work with video, photography, sound and text, but also with sculpture and installation.
