Cantonale Berne Jura 2013
Cantonale Berne Jura is all about working together across cantons. It wants to boost and showcase art from the region. Eight art galleries and museums from the cantons of Bern and Jura launched the joint Christmas exhibition Cantonale Berne Jura for the first time in 2011. Spread across the various institutions, Cantonale Berne Jura 2013 once again offers artists an important and broad platform and presents the diversity of Bernese and Jurassian art to the public.
The five-member jury of the Kunstmuseum Thun (Vanessa Bösch, Helen Hirsch, Reto Leibundgut, Dorothee Messmer, and Karim Noureldin) selected works from a total of 28 positions. With meat sculptures, postcard landscapes, pedestal sharks, and engobe garbage bags, among other things, the museum is once again demonstrating this year how diverse, creative, and innovative art in the Bern Jura region is.
