For 10 years, the “Hofstettenstrasse” presentation has been a fixture in the program of the Kunstmuseum Thun. Under its new name, Cantonale Berne Jura – Christmas Exhibition, it will be held for the first time as a cantonal annual exhibition in collaboration with other institutions. This will create a new cultural exchange between the regions, which will benefit everyone involved – artists and organizers alike.

As part of Kunstlink Bern, eight institutions in the canton of Bern – one of which has intercantonal status in connection with the canton of Jura – have jointly launched a new Christmas exhibition. The Cantonale Berne Jura project was initiated by Fanni Fetzer (former director of the Kunsthaus Langenthal) and Helen Hirsch (director of the Kunstmuseum Thun). The exhibition is dedicated to promoting artists from Bern and Jura. It enables them to present their work outside their own cities and regions. It invites the public to visit various museums and art centers of the Cantonale Berne Jura to experience the diversity of artistic creation that exists in the two cantons.

The Cantonale Berne Jura is all about inter-cantonal cooperation. The following institutions are participating in 2011:

CentrePasquArt, Biel; Kunsthalle Bern; Kunsthaus Interlaken; Kunsthaus Langenthal; Kunstmuseum Thun; Marks Blond Project, Bern; Musée jurassien des Arts, Moutier; Stadtgalerie, Bern.
