Nell Graber-Kirchhofer
Nell Graber-Kirchhofer was born in Trubschachen in 1949. After teacher-training college in Bern she attended the Kunstgewerbeschule Bern [Bern School of Arts and Crafts] and completed a course in free graphics at the Staatliche Akademie [State Academy of Fine Arts] in Stuttgart. Since 1974 she has displayed her work at numerous exhibitions, including a small retrospective exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Thun in 1990. In the second half of the 1980s she worked intensively as a book illustrator. In 1987 she received the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis [German Children’s Literature Award] for her illustrations in the book “Oma und ich” [Grandma and I].
