Monica Ursina Jäger

Monica Ursina Jäger was born in Thalwil in 1974 and grew up in Thalwil and Berg (St Gallen). Between and 1996 and 2000, she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst [School of Art and Design] in Lucerne, spending a guest semester at Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore in 1999. Between 2006 and 2008 she studied at Goldsmiths’ College, University of London. She began exhibiting her works in various solo and group exhibitions in 2006, such as at the Kunstmuseum Thun (2008), the Kunsthaus Grenchen (2014) and the Museum Franz Gertsch in Burgdorf (2019). Since 2016 Jäger has been researching and teaching at the IUNR (Institute of Natural Resource Sciences) at ZHAW [Zurich University of Applied Sciences]. She has received numerous awards and prizes for her work, such as the Swiss Art Award in 2007, the Canton of Zurich Art Grant in 2017 and 2020, and the Pro Helvetia Work Grant in 2018 and 2020. Jäger lives and works in Zurich and London.
