Martina Gmür

Martina Gmür was born in Münster (Valais) in 1979. Between 1996 and 1999 she attended the École de design et haute école d’art du Valais, and went on to complete a course at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst [academy of art and design] in Basel between 1999 and 2002. In 2014 she resumed her studies in Basel and graduated with a Master of Arts in 2017. She has been exhibiting her work at home and abroad since 2000. She has received various awards for her work, such as the USB Art Award in 2000, the Förderpreis des Kantons Wallis [Canton of Valais sponsorship award] in 2004, and a grant from Kunstkredit of the city of Basel in 2008. She lives and works in Basel.
