Marianne Baumann-Ingold was born in 1937 in Lotzwil near Langenthal. Between 1953 and 1957 she attended teacher-training college in Bern. She then studied art history at the University of Bern from 1966 to 1971. She started to give drawing lessons at the secondary school of the community association in Hilterfingen in 1974. She has been exhibiting her work in exhibitions in the region since 1976. Between 1980 and 1992, she worked in museum education (art education) at the Kunstmuseum Thun. For many years she has been a member of the Society of Friends of the Kunstmuseum Thun, where she works as a secretary. Baumann-Ingold lives in Thun.
