Christine Streuli
Christine Streuli was born in Bern in 1975 and grew up in Zurich, Chicago and Langenthal. She studied at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste [Zurich University of the Arts] and at the Universität der Künste Berlin [Berlin University of the Arts] between 1997 and 2001. Shortly after graduating, Streuli’s work was shown in exhibitions at home and abroad, such as at the Aargauer Kunsthaus (2008), the Kunstmuseum Luzern (2014) and the Kunstmuseum Thun (2020). In 2007, together with Yves Netzhammer, she exhibited in the Swiss Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. She has received numerous awards and grants, such as a scholarship from the International Studio and Curatorial Program in New York (2001), the Eidgenössischer Preis für Kunst [Swiss Federal Prize for Art] (2004, 2005 and 2006), and an artist residency from the Landis & Gyr Foundation in Zug (2009). Since 2015 she has held a professorship at the Universität der Künste Berlin. Streuli lives and works in Berlin.
