Angela Lyn was born in Windsor (England) to a Chinese father and an English mother in 1955. In 1968, the family emigrated to the USA. In 1972, she travelled to Taiwan to explore her Asian roots, and studied Chinese and painting at Fu Jen University in Taipei. She then studied art at Southampton College of Art and at Byam Shaw College (now Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design) in London. In 1978 she moved to Switzerland. She attended the Master Class in painting led by Franz Fedier at the Kunstgewerbeschule [School of Arts and Crafts] in Basel. She has been showing her work in various exhibitions in Switzerland and abroad since 1980, including the Kunsthalle Burgdorf (2000), MASI in Lugano (2015), and the Kunstmuseum Thun (2025). She has been living and working in the canton of Ticino since 1994.
